Abbotsford Airport Rebranding Project

For Fun Project

Current Branding

Problem Definition/Need

a) Overview:

Abbotsford international airport, located in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. Not far from the city center, Abbostford International Airport is the second largest airport in the lower mainland after Vancouver International Airport.

Up till 2014, the airport has welcomed over 500,000 passengers.

Apart from housing some of the major low-cost airline companies, the airport also offers food, water filling stations and gift shops.

b) Current branding:

The current branding of the airport is very minimal, with a very simple colour theme. According to the future plan provided by the airport,  they are current undergoing through a $7 million expansion. Thus, the current branding of the organization needs updates.

c) Current marketing position:

Currently, the airport is going through a $7 million expansion. Transitioning from its original smaller scale airport, they are planing to double the size of its terminals by the fall. The current branding of the airport is minimal, with a visual identity that needs an update.

Problem, challenge and opportunity

With the re-branding, as the expansion goes on, it will be a great opportunity to update  their brand identity. Also, as it being the host of the largest airshow in Canada and also as well as one the whole North America, the airport will benefit a lot more with an update of brand identity .

Once the new branding is implemented, as the growing number of the passenger sky rocketed starting from the year 2017, the airport will have a chance to attract more companies to put on ADs as well as having more shops and food revenue, which, will help the company to increase their annual profit.

The main target market for the company will be

1) passengers passing through the airport;

2) companies that will rent space for advertisement
